Installation, mixed media, steel, concrete, gold, variable dimensions
In the dim space of a basement, an instrument lies in the process of being unearthed or reassembled — uncertain whether from the future or the past. Its form recalls the segmented mirrors of the James Webb Space Telescope, yet its materials belong to another era: rebar, plaster, gold leaf.
The scene resembles the set of a film, or a laboratory abandoned mid-experiment. What is revealed appears both technological and devotional — a relic of an age searching for its own reflection.
Between discovery and belief, the work proposes scientific method and the production of knowledge as a cyclical act: every deconstruction of mystery giving rise to another.
