Kinetic light installation, stone, conical pendulum, motor, variable dimensions
A perpetual orbit of light around a vertical stone. Suspended from the ceiling, the light source moves according to the principle of a conical pendulum, casting shifting shadows that seem to animate both the stone and the surrounding space.
The stone, tilted at 23 degrees, recalls the Earth’s axis and, like a menhir, suggests an ancient measure of cosmic order. Yet here the model is inverted: the stone becomes the center around which the heavens appear to turn. Light Around Stone proposes a shift from a sun-centric to an earth-centric cosmos — one that aligns with our phenomenological experience of inhabiting the planet.
