"Prism", 2015

white marble, mirror, wood, cloth, steel, LED, Poem by Sufi poet Hafiz (read full poem here)

The present work seeks to act as a prism through which the viewer is pushed to see and realize his mortality in a way other than the usual. He gets to view death from a perspective, in which the thought and consciousness of mortality is no more something repulsive. On the contrary, it is a very important aspect for one’s own existence, as through this awareness, he is able to see life itself with great clarity, and therefore realize its true value.
